- When a kid falls down and laughs out loud to himself.
- When coffee bubbles in the Aeropress.
- When you yawn and stretch really, really, really loudly because it feels so great.
- The mountains.
- When it’s not snowy and cold and disgusting outside.
- Sitting so close to the soccer field that you can smell the grass and hear the sprinklers.
- When I actually jump, reach, and catch a frisbee in the air.
- Not getting any popcorn stuck in your teeth, even after eating an entire bag.
- When dogs fart and glare at me like it’s my fault.
- Finding leggings that fit and don’t slide down without being too loose or too tight…or at least, dreaming about the day I find ones that do.
- Throwing a perfect spiral.
- When I shave my legs and put on pants and I can actually feel the pants on your skin. Marvelous.
- The first whiskey sour I ever had…it was the best whiskey sour I’ve ever had.
- Thinking about shipping home my thickest blanket and my winter jacket because I don’t need it in Atlanta.
- Wearing shorts outside for work.
- Finding shoes that actually fit my feet.
- When my favorite comedians do a podcast together.
- Finding good lighting when you pose in the mirror.
- The smell of summer. You know what I’m talking about.
- Driving the gator or golf cart as fast as it goes across campus.
- Practicing comedy routines to myself in the car.
- Screaming along with Dashboard Confessional as I drive with the windows down.
- When I can find the perfect face moisturizer.
- Taking a solid panorama that isn’t crooked.
- EDEN. The artist. The man is an enigma and has the smoothest voice imaginable. Not buttery, because it’s deeper than that, like caramel, but light and airy.
- When I exchange nods with people running on the other side of the street.
- My silly bands, and thinking about which colors to switch in and out.
- Extra large eggs that are ACTUALLY extra large!
- A hug where I’m not the stronger person.
- My sunglasses tan lines. I look absolutely ridiculous, but also hilarious.
This list was frustratingly difficult to think of. But I urge you to take some time and think about the things that make you smile because sometimes it can be really, really hard…but you might need it.
